Scholarships
We believe representation matters and strive to make our trainings inclusive, accessible, and diverse. We are committed to disrupting systems of oppression and financial barriers that prevent many from accessing yoga and wellness trainings. This is why we offer scholarship opportunities, as necessary, for people who have a lived experience of TBI, Caregivers of people with TBI, Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC), affiliated LYB partner teachers who offer our free LoveYourBrain programming in their communities, and for clinicians and brain injury advocates who help raise awareness about our programming.
As a non-profit that uses funds raised from our trainings to make programming free for thousands of people in the TBI community, we have limited scholarships available, so kindly ask that applicants are mindful and pay at the highest level they can afford to support others who need to pay less.
Sliding scale scholarships supporting the cost of tuition
Full scholarships covering full tuition
What people are saying about our trainings…
"LoveYourBrain Yoga for Health Professionals reinforced the importance of empowering a client to be their own healer. As an occupational therapist in acute inpatient rehabilitation and certified yoga teacher, the tendency is to provide verbal cues and manual cues to correct alignment and guide a client through movement. This training taught me of the value in providing clients the space to explore their own bodies and increased opportunities to develop their proprioceptive, sensory, motor, and cognitive skills through the use of yoga. After completing this training, I was immediately able to modify the curriculum to implement at both the hospital setting and with a private yoga client with a TBI. The skills I have acquired at this training have been invaluable!"
- Michelle Eng, OT, NYU Rusk Rehabilitation
"Thank you so much for this amazing weekend! I have never been in such an empowering, compassionate, and supportive environment. There was so much love and curiosity in that room. I am still blown away and processing the whole thing. I could go on and on and on about how validating and beneficial the content was. As someone who has been practicing yoga with TBI for many years your modifications and queuing hit the nail on the head over and over again! As you know the healing process from TBI can be an isolating experience but over the past couple months I've been at a point in my healing where I’ve been searching for people to connect with in person. I don't know why it took me my surprise but I wasn't expecting this weekend to be an answer to those prayers. I am so grateful for all the new friends I made. Also I am so grateful that I was able to just do what I could this weekend and truly love and respect my brain!"
- Katie Probst, Yoga Teacher and member of the TBI community
“This training provided me with a fresh perspective regarding the benefits and uses of yoga as a therapeutic tool. The training brought to light subtle changes I could make in my communication approach when speaking with clients and caregivers to support a more encouraging and supportive therapeutic environment.”
- Rennie Saltzman, PT, DPT, Director of Physical Therapy, Pediatric Services, Easter Seals
