RAIN
This mindfulness practice will use a framework called RAIN, developed by Tara Brach, which stands for ‘Recognize’, ‘Allow’, ‘Investigate’ and ‘Nurture’ -- to more skillfully be with self-doubt. Self-doubt can be a big obstacle to accepting ourselves for who we are, because it often masks our ability to see our strengths. All of us struggle with this, since, during evolution, the brain’s wiring developed to focus more quickly on negative rather than positive information. But, with mindfulness, we can more clearly see these types of thoughts do not actually define us, and we can create more space to cultivate the compassionate response we need.
