Check in

The COVID-19 pandemic has made 2020 a disconnected year. With many people transitioning to a work from home lifestyle, concerts and events being cancelled, and social gatherings being limited, our ability to check in on one another has become increasingly difficult. As many places are entering (or are already in) a second wave, now might be a good time to check in with those around you.
What are some ways you can do this safely? We’ve put together a list of ways to remain connected and check in on those around you.
Pick up the phone and call someone you haven’t connected with in awhile. The holidays can be lonely for a lot of people and even more so now.
Consider a socially distant visit outside if weather permits. You can even wear masks and make sure you’re distanced to be extra safe.
Send a handwritten note or letter to someone - there’s something about putting pen to paper that makes a message more meaningful.
Set up a game night with your core group that you might not be able to see in person. There are lots of apps that can be accessed from separate platforms or you can always do a trivia night!
Platforms like Netflix have created “watch parties” so several people can all watch the same movie/tv show at once and live chat with one another.
These are just a handful of ways to stay connected with one another. But don’t forget to also check in with yourself and don’t be afraid to ask for help when it’s needed! What ways have you been using to check in with those around you?
