The people who make it possible.
“At the root of everything we do, we are always thinking about family.” - Krissy Danburg
What impact do you want to have on the world?
Jarrid and Krissy Danburg are focused on building a world of compassion, connection, and accessibility for the future of their family and their community.
In 2015, their whole world changed. Their daughter, just six months old at the time, suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Anyone who has been affected by TBI knows that healing can be a lifelong journey, and so as parents, they began the search for long-term care and community.
Along the way, they found yoga, which started as a shared passion, and, in their roles as caregivers, has become an essential practice for self-care. In 2021, they opened YogaSix South Hills, a studio where they could build a community and create the kind of world they envisioned for their children’s future. This also brought them to LoveYourBrain.
Each March, during Brain Injury Awareness Month, LoveYourBrain hosts a global campaign known as MindfulMarch. MindfulMarch raises awareness about concussion and TBI, and funds to keep our evidence-based programs and resources free for those affected. MindfulMarch also offers yoga studios and anyone interested a pathway to fundraise and bring visibility to the often invisible nature of TBI!
“When Jarrid and I first started our yoga studio,” Krissy shared, “we knew we wanted to find a way to support an organization that was near and dear to our life experiences." They had found their organization - and their impact was just beginning.
Tune in next week to learn how they catalyzed their compassion and love into a sustainable difference for LoveYourBrain and their entire community!
