About me: When I began my yoga practice in 2009, I didn't expect that after just a few months, I’d be committed to it for life! Not only did it help me to heal from a serious spinal injury, but it was a healing for my spirit and mind, as well. In 2012, I began teaching yoga and mindful movement, and has reaped the growing rewards ever since.
Why LYB: I have always been interested in the way movement and exercise can assist in healing the human body. I was active in the athletic training programs in my high school and in college, which made me partially responsible for the physical rehabilitation for athletes following concussion. Fast forward to 2017, when I learned about an innovative program that merged the power of yoga & meditation with the continued healing and rehabilitation after brain injury, it was literally a "no-brainer" for me to happily get involved.
Superhero: My superheroes are all who have gone through an experience in their life that has caused a deep internal exploration. When we look inward, we are confronted not only with our strengths, but our perceived weaknesses, which can be a very difficult process to delve into. But, exploring these aspects of ourselves breeds understanding for others, and I truly believe that through understanding, we can each help to heal the fractures in the world's humanity, and our own.
Resources: When my yoga studio was forced to close its doors during the Covid-19 pandemic, our teachers switched to teaching virtually. Our virtual classes can be found here: https://bit.ly/3nV11br
