Partner Studio Criteria
When you partner with us, you’re joining the LYB family, so we do a lot to ensure our partnership remains strong. Our partnership MOU outlines the mutual responsibilities to support our collective impact, including some of the following expectations:
Studio has demonstrated commitment to offering accessible yoga for healing and wellbeing
Studio offers at least two ‘LYB-friendly’ yoga classes (e.g., accessible, non-heated gentle, chair, restorative, beginner, meditation) weekly on regular schedule
Yoga teachers embody a compassionate and inclusive teaching style and have demonstrated experience, or strong interest in, teaching people with brain injury and/or disability
Studio is ADA accessible with ground level access or elevator, not overly crowded, has blocks and chairs available for students to use, if needed
Ability to adapt studio space for sensitivities to light, scent, sound (shades for windows, overhead light dimmers, ability to limit use of incense/essential oils, willingness to offer classes without music)
Ensure a majority of yoga teachers (on your regular schedule) who lead LYB-friendly yoga classes participate in the 20-hour, online Level 1 LoveYourBrain Yoga Training
Commit to leading 1 fundraising event annually (e.g., MindfulMarch during brain injury awareness month) to support LoveYourBrain’s free programming and raise awareness about our partnership
Appoint a partnership champion on staff to maintain communication with LoveYourBrain
Ensure that studio staff participate in our online orientation about our partnership
Incorporate LoveYourBrain in your website and communications to enhance visibility of yoga for brain injury
