LYB Mindset Affinity Groups
A 6-week online yoga, mindfulness & education program to build resilience for the brain injury community. An Affinity Group is an intentionally created space for people with shared identities or life experiences to meaningfully connect, learn with, and support each other.
Affirming spaces for people with shared identities
We offer Affinity Groups as part of our LYB Mindset program because we acknowledge the multiple intersections of brain injury and other aspects of a person’s lived experience. The programs are led by highly skilled LYB Facilitators who also identify as a member of that particular Affinity Group.

What drives our Facilitators
“As a BIPOC, I have experienced how it's played a role in feeling even more invisible, silenced, & isolated than the TBI journey naturally creates. Facilitating this group allows me to hold space for others like me; so, they can know they're not alone, they are supported, & that their BIPOC TBI experience does matter.” - Kourtney, BIPOC Affinity Group Facilitator
“We come together to help and support each other through listening and learning to care for ourselves as well as our loved ones. Knowing we are not alone and that there are others who have similar experiences with loss, inadequacies and the frustrations of caregiving.” - Gioia, Caregiver Affinity Group Facilitator
“I'm an older adult, 64 years old, and have many friends, relatives, neighbors, and students who are older adults. I have taught movement to older adults for many years - modern dance, partner dance, yoga, fitness, mind-body health…My work with older adults has shown me that aging can be a rich process, even with complications due to accidents, illness, the death of loved ones, the process of a evolving identity as we age, and whatever else comes our way.” Jeanne-Marie, Older Adult Affinity Group Facilitator
