Simply put I like hard things. I find most things in life get easier as you dedicate time and work to them. Cycling, on the other hand, requires more than that. It’s a combination of strategy, luck, and the art of riding, and the faster you get the harder it becomes. I’m not a natural talent on the bike — I have to work hard to compete, but I love that humble and hardworking attitude cycling requires. Because success doesn’t come easily to anyone in this sport, I find that I learn more about myself and about life in general navigating the ups and downs of competitive racing. Without it, life would be just a bit too linear.
