Alison Tetrick

Hello, I am Alison Tetrick and I was born and raised on a ranch in California. I am a cowgirl turned NCAA tennis player turned biochemist turned Team USA Professional Cyclist, storyteller and free-range entrepreneur. I raced at the highest levels on the Women’s World Tour. I am a 3 x Gravel Worlds Champion, Unbound 200 winner, represented the USA National Team at the Pan American Games, and medaled at the UCI Road World Championships in the Team Time Trial. I am a traumatic brain injury survivor after a crash in a professional bike race, and although the bike almost took my life, it also saved my life. I love my brain and want to share LoveYourBrain with all affected by head injuries. I needed, and still need, all the help and support I can get in my daily recovery battle. I am passionate about creating opportunity, education, and access to athletes through scholarships and community engagement. I have a B.S. in Biochemistry with an emphasis on Molecular Biology and an M.S. in Clinical Psychology. I was motivated to study more about the brain after my injury, and that’s why I went to graduate school. I believe sports, science, and YOU can make a powerful difference to change the world. I want to let people know that they are not alone when struggling, caregiving, and recovering from head trauma. Team LoveYourBrain! Life is not a race; it is an endurance feat that requires taking steps each day. You will find me adventuring, camping, and riding gravel near you.
