The LoveYourBrain Foundation is a US-based nonprofit that improves the quality of life of people affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI). Since 2014, we’ve been pioneering the use of mindfulness, yoga and community-building for resilience and mental well-being after TBI (including concussion), advancing the science behind our holistic approach to healing in clinical and community-based settings, and re-imagining how people can actively participate in their healing. We also conduct extensive outreach with clinical, advocacy, and community-based stakeholders to raise awareness about the benefits of mindfulness and social connection for brain injury. This is an exciting time for our organization -- we’ve recently reached our 10-year anniversary, refining our strategic vision, and our Executive Director was recently recognized as a Top Ten CNN Hero (see video segment here).
The Director of Communications and Marketing will be instrumental in overseeing and executing our communications and marketing strategy to achieve and grow fundraising and program goals. This role is pivotal in shaping our narrative, amplifying our impact, and building a strong brand presence that aligns with our mission and values. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer, strategic systems thinker, a creative storyteller, and a collaborative leader who is deeply passionate about improving mental well-being among people affected by brain injury. They must have demonstrated expertise in centering people with brain injury (or other relevant background) in developing and implementing strategy, and ensuring equity and inclusion are reflected in organizational internal and external communications channels, voice, and materials.
LoveYourBrain believes that TBI, caregiving, and the intersections where our organization works--namely within healthcare, yoga, and wellness spaces--disproportionality impact the most marginalized in our society, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, women, non-binary people, people living with disabilities, people with intersecting identities, and others with lived experience being part of marginalized communities.
